Landscape photography covers a lot of ground, literally. This gallery spans volcanic wastelands and snow-capped peaks, Atlantic coastlines and sand dunes, still lakes and fields that look like they belong on a different continent. None of it was easy to reach, and none of it was meant to be. The planet does not arrange itself for convenience.
What these images share is not geography but attitude: the decision to wait for the right moment instead of settling for the obvious one, to go to the edge of things rather than photograph them from a distance. Some of these places are famous. Others are not. The camera does not care either way.
