TINTORERÍA ROME

Tintoreria Rome runs an industrial laundry operation at the scale most people never see: tons of fabric a day, moved through machines tall enough to walk into, in a facility where the air is part of the production line. We were brought in to photograph the operation in full, from the carts arriving full to the finished product leaving on hangers, with full access to the machinery and the people running it.

The gallery follows the work the way the work happens. Drums the size of small rooms turning at speed. Steam, water, soap, weight. Hands feeding fabric into presses, pulling it out clean and folded. Rows of identical garments, sorted, tagged, ready. Repetition, scale, and the strange quiet of machines that are louder than they look. A side of the textile industry photographed where it actually lives, well past the storefront.
