FERRY BOATS
THE WORLD OF FERRY BOATS
Ferries are one of the most photographable working environments left at sea. Steel painted, repainted, and salt-eaten back to bare metal. Pilot boats running circles around vessels twenty times their size. A blue-lit stairwell at three in the morning that looks like a film set nobody bothered to dress. We have spent serious time on board and around these ships, photographing them at sea, in port, and on the move between the two, across enough hours and conditions to feel like the real thing rather than the brochure version of it.
