Diptica® acquires gigapixels artificial intelligence algorithms https://www.diptica.com/blog/2018/11/diptica-acquires-gigapixels-artificial-intelligence-algorithms

Diptica® acquires A.I.Gigapixel™ artificial intelligence algorithms, offering its clients the amazing possibility to upscale images without loss of quality.
A.I.Gigapixel™ is the first and only desktop application to use the power of artificial intelligence to enlarge images while adding natural details for a sharper and more impressive result.

Using deep learning technology, A.I.Gigapixel™ can enlarge images and fill in details that other resizing products leave out.

Other traditional upscaling methods produce images that are blurry, unrealistically painterly, and lack the details that are present in real high-resolution images.

Contact us now to know more!

Fine Art & Traditional Prints - Text by Adam Scorey https://www.diptica.com/blog/2018/11/fine-art-traditional-prints

Direct link to this article: https://blog.zenfolio.com/blog/2016/10/fine-art-vs-traditional-prints

Buy a print or download of one of Emmanuel's photograph here, view his exhibit here.

Fine Art Prints

Fine Art ‘Giclee' (aka Inkjet) prints are super-popular right now, and have been for a while. Why? I believe because they offer photographers a greater choice and enables you to align a paper to your brand or style of photography. Depending on the surface texture, Fine Art prints can give a beautiful, painterly effect to your images. The paper itself is also thicker and more tactile, with some providing slight colour casts that can add extra atmosphere to your shots.

The downsides are that they are slightly more expensive, need handling with care as they can scratch quite easily, and they don’t produce quite the same depth of detail in shadow and highlight areas as photographic prints. To some, these prints can look flat, almost ‘wrong’ because of this ‘blocking up’ of the image. Every time we show fine art papers, we always hear plenty of “Oos!” and “Aaahs!” as people express their delight at the textures… They look amazing with the right image – perhaps more ethereal portraits, backlit in sunlight. Lifestyle images work well, as do abstractsnature and landscape images.

We offer six different Fine Art papers at OVI, all available for you to buy and sell through Zenfolio: Photo Rag, Bamboo, German Etching, Portrait, Smooth Art Silk, and Museum.

While there arguably isn't ever a 'right' or 'wrong' paper for a given image, careful paper choice can help bring out the qualities in the image you're looking highlight. For example, you may want the warm tones in your abstract landscape photo to shine through on a smoothly textured surface - in which case Bamboo would be a good choice. Or perhaps you're looking to showcase your prize portrait study in a painterly way with truer-to-life colours - in which case a more heavily textured paper like Portrait or German Etching would be more suitable.

Each paper has its own unique character and strengths, so the best way to decide which you prefer for your style of photography which is by getting hands-on with a few samples.

Traditional Prints

Traditional (aka C-Type) prints on the other hand - particularly when printed on our Lightjet - have a deep contrast, punchy, accurate colours and razor sharp resolution. After all, the technology was invented by NASA to chart the stars with laser precision. There are many different surfaces and textures to choose from, but here at One Vision we produce our lightjet prints on three types of Fuji Professional DPII gallery grade papers: lustregloss and metallic.

Lustre, by far, is the most popular as it has a more matt look and it resists handling and finger marks brilliantly, yet still has all the technical qualities a professional lab needs – longevity (30 years) and precision.

Gloss, though stunning has dropped in popularity in recent years. One of the issues being finger marks, the other when framed is Newton’s Rings, the weird petrol spill-like distortions created by reflections in the acrylic ‘glass’.

Metallic paper and gloss are similar in their look, until closer inspection where you see metallic-esque highlights; the paper appears to have a ‘depth’ to it. Black and white images look amazing on metallic, as do bright, contrasty portraits.

It’s easy to assume that photo paper is just paper, and that fine art papers are the answer to all our woes. However, you need to choose carefully and pick the paper to suit the mood and style of the shoot. You may not ruin the shot, but you could spend more than you need or reduce the qualities/style you have spent valuable time and effort creating.

Revamp of Diptica.com and closure of the spanish version (EN) https://www.diptica.com/blog/2018/10/revamp-of-diptica-com-and-closure-of-the-spanish-version Hello guys!

Just a quick update on Diptica.com's website lifting, as of today:
-revamp of letter styles for easier and more modern reading
-more concealed main menu for easier navigability
-still working on choosing which online form service we will be working with during 2019, if we stick to Coffe Cup or move to any other
-updated "about us"
-shutting down the spanish version of the web, and redirecting "diptica.es" to the .com domain "diptica.com"
-intergated spanish translation of some pages (about us, contact, tutorials, workshops...)
-minor updates

We may now translate some pages to French language pretty soon. Diptica.com will remain a mainly english oriented web, with all menus and texts in english, but translations to French and Spanish available on selected pages. The SEO of the web should not suffer in any way from it. But this way, we will finally be able to deliver up-to-date contents in several languages at once.

Hola!

-Revistas (Vogue NY, Bunte, Marie Claire, Quelle,...)
-Agencias publicitarias (TBWA; Young & Rubicam, Saatchi & Saatchi, Partners Ogilvy...)
-Marcas (Coca Cola, Levi's, Dewar's, Oral-B...)
-Empresas (Air France, CINFA, Thales, Alstom, Ocean Hotels H10,...)
-Peliculas, foto fija
-Artistas, deportistas, músicos, actores (Susan Sarando, Julia Roberts, Lucia Galán,...), políticos (candidatos a presidencias, senadores,...)
-Embajadas, ONGs,...

Stylism https://www.diptica.com/blog/2017/9/stylism As a photo studio, in Diptica, the photographer doesn´t work alone: the stylist is always at his side, being in charge of:

  • help with the development of the concept of the photo shoot
  • propose costume ideas according to that concept
  • provide or select clothes and accessories
  • advise or do the hairstyle and make-up
  • help with the scenery, select the location and even the schedule of the shoot
  • support with the poses during the session
  • care and attention in every detail

The purpose of the stylist is to have everything fit to the concept, help the photographer in creating a meaningful photography, be his essential complement, his right arm.

What is food styling? https://www.diptica.com/blog/2017/8/what-is-food-styling Food styling is a technique that makes food images appealing and favors the sales of the product.

Our first contact with food is through our eyes, either on a menu or served on a plate.

Your sales possibilities increase drastically when your customers see the dishes on a nice photography, with beautiful details, triggering the salivation and opening the appetite.

If we talk about professional photography, we are talking about photography taken through an experienced eye, a professional being behind the camera who not only puts his wisdom at your service but also shows his knowledge in the use of all his equipment, using the best available cameras
, and mastering all the lighting techniques and equipment to get the best results.

Hand in hand with the photographer works the food stylist, who handles the selection and purchase of the perfect ingredients to be used in the photoshoot, from the table decoration, selection of tableware and table linen, to details of the final set.

"I was born someday in 1973, somewhere on the North African continent.

I am a French citizen, even though I have hardly ever lived in France.

I have travelled, following my cameras, following images.

But actually it doesn't really matter what I have done or not. Where I have lived. What I have seen. Where I will go tomorrow. Who I have been or become.

What is important is that you are here. Looking at my pictures. With me. Now.

Wondering when or where they were taken. How.

Let me show you. "

Comment.

Laissez-moi vous montrer."
