It was a great pleasure to digitalize a wonderful painting by renowned artist Sarah Marzbani at our studio today. We hope to see you back soon!
The 100x70cm painting was digitalized using a Canon EOS R3 camera and a Canon TS-E 50mm f/2.8L macro tilt-shift lens. The setup was suspended from a zenithal perspective above the painting, which was laid flat and secured with patafix. Unfortunately, we didn’t capture a behind-the-scenes image—sorry about that! 🤓
The camera was mounted on a Manfrotto 410 Junior Geared Head, positioned at the end of an Avenger C-stand and arm. Due to the weight, we balanced it with a sandbag on the opposite end. Achieving a perfect zenithal perspective was crucial to avoid any perspective distortion.
Focus was done manually, as the lens is fully manual.
Lighting was provided by a Profoto D2, also positioned zenithally above the camera, with a large 5-foot Profoto softbox to prevent shadows from the camera and stand onto the painting.
Setting up took 50 minutes, while taking the shot took less than 10!
